“I literally sold my car and gave up the Appartment I was living and came to Delhi to travel to US.”

My name is Mon Bahadur Gurun with MBA, I’m Nepal national currently residing in New Delhi, India.

I’m DV2020 winner. I sat for an DV2020 interview on my mother funeral as I was told by embassy that they are scheduling my interview on an emergency basis and if I miss this chance I may not get an opportunity to be interviewed. I travelled 1500 miles on my mother’s funeral and got my visa stamped on my passport. Soon after receiving my visa I left job as school administrator where I have been working for the past 4 years. In December I was suppose to apply for my Doctorate degree but I didn’t as I had already booked my flight for US for January 8th. I literally sold my car and gave up the Appartment I was living and came to Delhi to travel to US. It’s been 2 months her in New Delhi that I’m saying at my friend’s Appartment with no job.

Though 2020 has taken lots from me, I’m was hoping and weaving a new dream to live in USA. 2021 welcomed me with extension of Trump baseless Xenophobic PP10014. The biggest disappointment is not when a bad people does bad but it is when good people doesn’t make good the bad done by bad people. I literally was hopeful that Biden will rescind PP10014 once he take over the throne as I was following his tweets during election. But Biden turn to be a big disappointment after January 29. Now I’m wondering whether winning DV lottery is a blessing or a curse. But I’m still hopeful that the justice system of American will do justice to DV2020.

Hope we all get to live the dream that we dreamt.
